On today’s Daytime Confidential podcast TV Guide’s Michael Logan returns to dish all the latest industry news and hottest storylines with Luke, Jamey, Jillian and Regan.
During the super-sized episode, the gang discusses the end of As the World Turns, if P&G plans to create their own soap hub and where its stars will end up.
Logan weighs in on Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo’s return to General Hospital as Brenda. Has it been a success or a bust? Find out which Brenda reunion Logan is looking forward to most. What will Sam McCall do when she comes face-to-face with Brenda? Logan also comments on Jonathan Jackson’s latest storyline as Lucky impersonating the Irish assassin Ronan.
On paper, Vivian being buried alive on Days of our Lives looks like it should be entertaining. Find out what Logan thinks of DAYS’ new twist on one of its classic storylines. Many fans have been disappointed with how DAYS has written Crystal Chappell’s Carly Manning since her return. Logan shares his thoughts on why fantastic actresses–like Chappell, Eden Riegel and Gina Tognoni–have been snatched up by various shows without much apparent thought on their character’s development.
All My Children has been making some major casting changes with the firing of Adam Mayfield, Brittany Allen and the casting of Daniel Cosgrove and Lindsay Hartley. Logan comments on the AMC casting shakeup and if the show’s move to L.A. has been a success.
One Life to Live is bringing back Kim Zimmer as Echo. Will her return help provide Dorian and Viki with more storylines? Luke and Jillian are tired of the Ford brothers dominating air time so they get Logan’s opinion of the Ford Brothers and the Llanview teen set.
Brad Bell is tackling a pretty intense topic by giving Stephanie stage four cancer on The Bold and the Beautiful. Can he pull it off? Logan weighs in on the front burner storyline, Scott Clifton as Liam and the new Thomas Forrester.
Last time Logan visited the Daytime Confidential podcast, he wasn’t too happy about the state of The Young and the Restless, so the DC crew asks if he thinks things have improved at the No. 1 soap. Jillian and Logan bask in their common love for Nikki Newman.
As the podcast winds down, the DC gang wraps things up by asking about the soap genre’s future and they get Logan’s opinion on the web series The Bay and Venice.

On today’s Daytime Confidential podcast Luke, Jamey, Jillian and Regan discuss the latest in All My Children, As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless storylines and news, including:
Vincent Irizarry’s contract status at All My Children and the Who Killed David Hayward murder mystery that had David laid out on a morgue slab. Can’t get enough of JR and Annie? Well expect them in even more story, but with that comes more air time for Scott and Marissa. Jamey has a Wishful Casting replacement for Marissa that should make DC’s Mel happy. What is Asher up to and who is his father?
As the World Turns killed of Reid and gave his heart to Chris Hughes. Does this mean that Noah ends up winning Luke by default? John Dixon’s return to Oakdale and his ripping into Lucinda provided some wonderful scenes between Larry Bryggman and Elizabeth Hubbard. Will the DC gang be watching ATWT’s replacement The Talk when it premieres?
Owen delivers Bridget’s baby on The Bold and the Beautiful. Does anyone else think Jackie is headed for a breakdown and kidnapping storyline? Rick kissing Jackie came out of left field. Where is that plot point headed? The father/son story of Bill and Liam continues to be B&B’s best story as Scott Clifton and Don Diamont go toe-to-toe.
What is happening to Days of our Lives once delicious villain Vivian? Dena Higley has let it be known she’s writing DAYS, but its ratings are down. Where did her shiny ball go that had kept her occupied? Jennifer returns to Salem to facilitate Bo and Hope’s reunion.
General Hospital’s Brenda and Sonny finally reunite, but is Regan happy with how this storyline is playing out? All this talk of Brenda has given Sam and Carly a lot to worry and each is handling it differently. What will these two do when Brenda arrives back in Port Charles? Robin punches the psycho Lisa and lets Patrick know it isn’t about him, it’s about their daughter. Wouldn’t it have been nice if Anna or Robert had been the one to get Lucky to go under cover?
One Life to Live put out a casting call for Joey Buchanan. Luke suggests ATWT’s Eric Sheffer Stevens while Jamey thinks ATWT’s Michael Park is perfect for the role, especially if OLTL had been able to cast Jon Hensley as Kevin Buchanan. Will casting Joey fix Gina Tognoni’s storyline as Kelly Cramer? Jamey reveals what he’s been hearing about the Roger Howarth rumors.
Ronan shot Chance on The Young and the Restless, but is Chance really dead? Can soaps do crime mystery storylines well or she they focus on other things? Jamey’s beloved Villy got married, but Jillian and Luke weren’t feeling it. Luke suggests a Phyllis/Deacon/Nikki triangle would be smokin’ hot. Is Y&R really implying with Nikki’s storyline that the only way a woman can take on Victor is if she is drunk?

As the World Turns fan favorite John Dixon returns to Oakdale just in time to help Chris Hughes. It looks as if Luke isn’t going to have to make a choice between Reid and Noah after Reid gets hit by a train. Henry and Barbara finally say “I Do.”
The Bold and the Beautiful pulled a fast one and now Bill Spencer is going to be Liam’s father. Thomas defends Brooke to the Forrester family. Should Brooke and Thomas get it on after 90210 alum Adam Gregory makes his debut?

Vivian tries to pull off another buried alive plot, but should DAYS be finding something better for her to do?
The DC gang goes in-depth on Brenda’s return to General Hospital. Has it been well executed or is GH in danger of ruining the return of one of its biggest stars? Robin finds out that Patrick cheated on her and gives Kimberly McCullough an opportunity to deliver a fantastic performance. Do shootouts really make Jason and Sam horny?
Clint destroys David and Dorian’s wedding on One Life to Live. Should David and Dorian fans have been left hanging or should they have given a hint of hope by having Dorian find a clue that sends her on the hunt to find Dorian? OLTL needs to play up its Blair/Todd/Tea triangle and figure out a way to give Viki and Dorian more scenes together. Everybody and their detective close in on Elijah. Should OLTL sign Lindsay Hartley on as Kimberly?
